Booking & Paying for lessons
For each instructor we need a minimum of 9 paying pupils. Some classes can have more than 9 and some less provided we maintain 9 or more on average across all lessons.
Lessons are organised on a voluntary basis, so I do not have access to PTA funding, or any other sources of additional funding. If you book lessons, then those lessons need to be paid for.
If a lesson is cancelled by the ski centre, e.g. due to adverse weather then a full refund will be given for the cancelled lesson. Refunds are not provided for lessons missed for any other reasons.
After the class is booked and confirmed a refund can only be given if there are still an average of 9 or more pupils in each class, otherwise an entire class would need to be cancelled.
For JGPS payments can be made through Parent Pay, for all other schools bank transfer details will be provided.
Children who have never skied before cannot join a Level1 - Beginners group after week 2, as they will have missed too much to be able to catch up. For all other lessons a pupil can join at any time provided the instructor is happy that there is not too big a spread in skills for the group. The instructors decision is final.
On the day
If your child is under 8 then a parent must be present during the lesson.
Parents of children aged 8 or older do not need to be present during lessons but there must be a responsible adult present that your child knows and is happy to go to if they need assistance.
Children must wear a long sleeved top, long trousers and gloves. The ski centre will provide skis, sticks and a helmet, although you may use your own.
You will need to arrive before the lesson so that you have time to collect equipment and get ready for the class starting at 3:00 p.m. Equipment can be collected up to 20 minutes before the lesson. On the very first lesson of the term please arrive a bit early as it can take a wee bit longer the first day to get children measured for equipment, and there are often several groups arriving at the same time.
Lessons will finish slightly before 4:30, to give the instructors time to get ready for their next class and so that children can get changed ready to be collected.
Getting there
Travel to and from the ski centre is not provided but I am happy to try and help help swap contact details between parents who want to organise lift shares.
Class Organisation
The instructors may reorganise classes and move pupils between classes to ensure that the best groupings for instructing. Again it is their decision to move children.
Please do not ask instructors to move children between classes yourself.
